Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, born on March 26, 1991 and professionally referred to under the other name Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and was the first female signing to J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. Her debut EP Pho, released on October 21 2016, was released by Dreamville Records. The singer began to earn recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It came out in May 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading music online in the year 2012, when she released her first mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox release her single Bound along with her self-released mixtape Five Finger Discount. In 2015, she appeared on Omen's Elephant Eyes Album on Sweat it out on July 21st. J. Cole asked her to work with him on Rihanna's remark. Then, later in the calendar, her songs was played throughout Dreamville. She was officially signed to Dreamville Records on 8 December. She made an appearance on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II in the track Backseat featuring Cozz. In October 21st, 2016 her debut EP was released, titled Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's track Change and also performed as the opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. She also appeared on the songs Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus together with Bas and her labelmates. Ari Lennox's debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on July 16, 2018. The debut single, Whipped Cream The album's first single, Whipped Cream came out in September 5th, 2018, accompanied by a the music video. She released her second single, Grampa on November 9. She then released on November 13 two new singles titled One and Pedigree. One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released on her debut single, February 26, 2019 for the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby performed with Cole as part of The Creed II sound track on November 16. It was released with the music video which debuted in February 20th, 2019 that surpassed three million views via YouTube within its first seven days. In December 2018 she was an opening act for The From East Atlanta With Love Tour in conjunction with 6LACK.
